Dr Leah Peace began dancing from the age of 5 and fell in love with movement, especially classical Ballet. Following an ankle injury as a teenager, Leah worked through many difficulties to earn her place en pointe and continued to work hard to achieve the level of discipline, artistry and athleticism required of dancers to dance professionally and teach classical ballet. She has been teaching ballet for over 12 years in Melbourne and has trained in the Vaganova, RAD (Royal Academy of Dance), Ceccetti and ATOD syllabuses.

During her schooling years Dr Leah was also a state runner for Victoria in the 800m event and cross country running. She understands the demands on young athletes from all levels, especially those whom strive to excel not only in their out of school sport/dance program but across all areas of life.

Dr Leah completed a 3 year Bachelor of Science at The University of Melbourne with a major in Physiology & Anatomy and then went on to do a further 5 year Doctor of Chiropractic double degree at RMIT University, graduating with honours.

She has a passion for combing the discipline, beauty and elegance of classical ballet with the gentle individualised approach of the SOT Chiropractic technique. Dr Leah loves to work with and impart her knowledge to dancers, gymnasts and young athletes, to teach them that Chiropractic is much more than just the “cracks” - it is nervous system integration that helps you feel, be and achieve your best. She delivers dance-specific treatment options to support dancers, prevent injuries and create an overall feeling of wellness that greatly benefits many athletes along side other allied health modalities such as Physiotherapy & Sports Psychology.

Dr Leah is a member of IADMS (International Association of Dance Medicine & Science), SOT (Sacro-Occipital Technique), AHPRA and Chiropractic Australia.

She is passionate about achieving optimal health and performance, particularly in dancers. Dr Leah strives to achieve the best results and acquire the most up to date knowledge and research to treat her patients.

Dr Leah is also a member of the Ballet Teachers Workshop Committee (non-for-profit organisation) renowned for its prestigious ballet-only competition that supports dancers training classically in a supportive and dancer-focused environment. It is her passion to be able to give back to a community that supported her and so many other young developing dancers over many years.
